 In 1997 I became involved with the proud owners of a male Pomeranian puppy who was named Sam.  As adorable and of course brilliant as little Sam was, they couldn't train him to stop lifting his little leg in the house.  He would do his regular business on a newspaper or outside in the yard, but his little leg always found the drapes or the wastebasket in the kitchen.   So they began checking the local pet stores for training aids to curtail Sam's leg lifting activity, and the only dog pants available covered the entire rear end of the dog.  Well, there was no way anyone was going to start changing and washing messy, smelly, dog diapers.  So one afternoon we sat down and came up with the first design of  a Hawaiian dog diaper that didn't cover their little dog's behind!  We hauled out a sewing machine and began to sew away on the first prototype DogGiedee diaper.  And they actually worked!
